Standard coverage is provided at no extra charge. However, it uses a replacement value of 60 cents a pound and it provides only minimal protection. Under this option, a claim for any article that may be lost, destroyed, or damaged while in your mover’s custody will be settled based on the weight of the individual article multiplied by 60 cents. 

Full replacement valuation costs extra and covers more. You can choose the amount of valuation coverage you carry during your move. For local moves in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC, the recommended amount is $6,000 in coverage for every room that is being moved.

With Full Replacement Protection, for most items, if an article is lost, damaged, or destroyed while in our custody, we will repair it, replace it, or pay you for the cost of the repair or the current market value to replace it.
